FAQs

Young Leaders Advisory Council (YLAC) is a member-based committee that develops programs and services to help current students of veterinary medicine and recent veterinary graduates with the challenges of starting out in practice and provides opportunities for them to get involved in their professional community.

About the Bill

SB1271 establishes an Arizona Veterinary Loan Assistance Program, offering significant incentives – including a student loan reimbursement of up to $100,000 for veterinarians who work in Arizona for at least four years – to those who obtain a veterinary degree after January 1, 2023. As part of their agreement, veterinarians must work at least two years at a municipal, county, or nonprofit shelter, or in an agricultural practice designated by the USDA as having a shortage.

Welcome to the thriving desert, where the sun always shines on your career. Learn why the Grand Canyon state is a great place to live and work!

About Arizona

Arizona, located in the southwestern region of US, is best known for the Grand Canyon, the mile-deep chasm carved by the Colorado River. Flagstaff, a ponderosa pine–covered mountain town, is a major gateway to the Grand Canyon. Tucson is home to natural sites include Saguaro National Park, protecting cactus-filled Sonoran Desert landscape and the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum.

Surrounding states include California, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, New Mexico and borders Mexico. Which means a short flight away or few hours of driving gives you easy access to beachy San Diego, lively Las Vegas, majestic Grand Canyon, and the “mighty five” national parks just across the state line in Utah.
