Veterinary Health Care Team of Arizona

Formed in 2003, the Veterinary Health Care Team of Arizona (VHCTAz) is a professional community for every member of the veterinary practice team. This is a unique opportunity to belong to your own professional group that is focused on you and your practice team. It provides you with the tools you need for your personal and professional development, while promoting and supporting the important role of the entire team in patient and client care.

Assistants, client service representatives, educators, kennel staff, managers, technicians, and students enrolled in veterinary technology programs can, through active involvement, bring renewed energy to the practice through a renewed commitment to teamwork. Experienced and new team members can benefit from the resources that help build cohesive and highly functioning teams that produce a harmonious work environment, greater job satisfaction, and team spirit. Along with that comes the recognition you and your team deserve.

Volunteer and Leadership Opportunities

Members are an integral part of the growth of the veterinary community by providing an opportunity to serve on a committee and see ideas come to life!

VHCTAz Leadership Committee

Your Veterinary Health Care Team of Arizona’s (VHCTAz) Community Leadership Committee is designed to provide insight into the direction, activities, and education topics for each “community”. VHCTAz has four veterinary communities: client services, kennel staff and veterinary assistants, managers, and technicians.

The Leadership Committee members oversee each community. They lead the communities that meet 3 to 6 times a year to network, socialize, and collaborate. We welcome volunteers for Leadership chairs and co-chairs to help plan and develop activities and increase their visibility within the veterinary community.

The Leadership Committee meets quarterly for in-person and virtual meetings to determine how best to serve veterinary staff communities with programs, networking events and other tools that promote career development through education and exchange. This is a wonderful opportunity to volunteer within an active professional group that serves the needs of the support staff in veterinary hospitals and clinics. It is intended to enhance the personal skills that help make practices successful.

VHCTAz invites interested veterinary staff to become involved. There will be many opportunities to make valuable contributions that won’t require a lot of time, but will help increase the visibility of the veterinary staff and their contributions to the profession.

The Veterinary Health Care Team of Arizona (VHCTAz) recognizes that volunteers are essential and that volunteers play an integral role through their important contributions. Through serving as a chairperson on the VHCTAz Leadership Committee, your knowledge and expertise benefits all veterinary support staff.
