One Wellness Program

A Well-being Program for Practices

Fun, simple and meaningful, this program offers veterinary teams an opportunity to strengthen workplace well-being principles such as communication, support, gratitude, and teamwork. Plus, it offers a daily dose of cheer. With input from participants in the initial pilot program, the modules have been revised to address the real-life experiences of working as a team. They are easy to implement and bring team members together to celebrate each other and who they are.

If your practice is interested in participating, you may enroll by completing the online sign-up form at the bottom of this page. It is suggested to enroll soon as seats are limited for this hands-on program.

In May of 2021, AzVMA announced the launch of its One Wellness Program. This unique program was designed to foster a practice culture focused on veterinary well-being. The practice well-being program was developed by members of the AzVMA Wellness Task Force that was assembled in January 2020. It is a dynamic group of passionate well-being advocates from various veterinary disciplines, as well as educators and mental health professionals. Throughout 2020, the task force worked diligently to develop a program that is simple to implement, easy to participate in, and beneficial to all members of the practice team.

Fifteen practices participated in the initial six-month pilot program which was built around well-being centered topics of communication, compassion, gratitude, self-care, stress reduction, and support.

Each of the participating practices had a designated “Wellness Ambassador” who served as the program coordinator for their team while acting as a liaison to the Wellness Task Force in order to relay feedback, provide suggestions, and evaluate the success of the program.

AzVMA would like to thank the members of the Wellness Task Force for their dedication in developing tools for veterinary teams to adopt well-being as a team culture. This diverse group of professionals bring tremendous value to the program and served as mentors to the wellness ambassadors during the implementation phase.
