We are conducting a research study examining the factors that contribute to burnout and well-being in veterinary medicine. This study aims to better understand the emotional, financial, and organizational pressures veterinarians face across different practice types. Findings from this project will help identify areas where targeted support, resources, and systemic improvements may strengthen veterinarian well-being and long-term workforce sustainability.
Veterinarians from all practices within the United States are invited to share your insights by participating in our study! This involves completing a brief, anonymous online survey consisting of approximately 36 questions and taking 10 minutes to complete, and all responses will remain confidential. The survey will be open for 30 days, closing March 15th, 2026. We welcome participation from veterinarians across all practice types and career stages.
Please feel free to forward this survey to any veterinary colleagues who may be interested in participating.
This study has been approved by the W.A Franke Honors College at the University of Arizona and is being conducted as part of an undergraduate honors thesis. The study is led by Joseph Plunkett, a pre-veterinary student at the University of Arizona, under the supervision of Dr. Mary K. Klein. If you have questions about the study, please contact Joseph at jplunkett@arizona.edu or Dr. Klein at mkklein@arizona.edu.
Thank you in advance for your time and for contributing to research aimed at supporting the veterinary profession.
