Thank you very much for your generous donation! This award has made a meaningful impact on my education by allowing me to limit my work hours and fully immerse myself in valuable opportunities to advance my education.
I am proud to be a University of Arizona alumna, having completed my undergraduate studies here as well. I am now a third-year veterinary student on clinical rotations. This scholarship enabled me to complete a unique clinical rotation at a small zoo in Mississippi. I gained lots of hands-on experience with various species, including spider monkeys, capybaras, De Brazza’s monkeys, zebras, tapirs, hyenas, tigers, and more! I have had the opportunity to perform procedures such as intubation, IV catheter placement, and obtain urine and blood samples as well!!! I think this will truly be one of my highlights from clinical year. This exposure is significantly different from the small animal medicine I am most familiar with and has been truly once-in-a-lifetime experience.
I have recently passed the NAVLE, and I am eager to pursue a career in emergency medicine, a field that has been my passion for several years. Additionally, my recent clinical experiences have sparked a strong interest in zoo and exotic animal medicine, expanding my professional goals and aspirations. I am hopeful I can have the best of all worlds one day!

Thank you so much for choosing me as the recipient for the future veterinarian scholarship. As a future veterinarian, any amount of monetary help I receive is extremely appreciated.
As many people know, veterinary school is quite expensive and the debt many students face post-graduation is overwhelming. I am extremely grateful for this scholarship as this helps to reduce some of the debt I will face when I graduate and allows me some peace of mind to focus on my future career rather than worry about money. After graduation I am planning on participating in an internship for emergency veterinary medicine, and beyond that starting a career as an ER doctor.
I once again wish to express my gratitude towards receiving this future veterinarian scholarship as it is helping me to achieve those goals and dreams. Thank you so much for your consideration and your choice in me.

Thank you for awarding me the Future Veterinarian Scholarship. I deeply appreciate having the opportunity to share my profound passion for veterinary medicine with the community as well as the difference I am to make in optimizing animal health and wellbeing. Growing up on the Autism Spectrum, forming connections with people always posed a great challenge for me. As a result, I turned my attention towards animals. Much like them, there
was a time in my life when I struggled to speak up for myself and express my emotions efficiently. This is when I discovered my purpose: to be their voice who cannot advocate for themselves.
After I graduate with my doctoral degree in veterinary medicine, I plan to pursue either emergency veterinary care or further extend my education and earn my residency board certification as a small animal veterinary surgeon. The Future Veterinarian Scholarship will make a positive contribution to my journey and help fund my education in a way that will
alleviate the financial demands of pursuing a career in veterinary medicine. Your generosity allows me to continue focusing on my academic and professional development as I continue working towards becoming a compassionate, knowledgeable veterinarian.
